Race Format
There are multiple road circuits within the AARC facility that are linked to form the Midlands Tour event circuit. Each race includes multiple laps of the 4.2 kilometre oval Highway Circuit plus an extended gradient section. The gradient section includes a short downhill then a constant 5% climb for 2 kilometres. A 100m hard gravel section links the top of the gradient section with the oval circuit.

Race 1 - Women's A, B & C
Race distance of 75 kilometres of the extended AARC Highway Circuit.
First 7 laps will be on the oval Highway Circuit, thereafter a further 7 laps of the extended Highway Circuit including the 5% gradient section. This is an individual event with a team component in A only.

Race 2 - Masters A, B & C
Race distance of 75 kilometres of the extended AARC Highway Circuit.
First 7 laps will be on the oval Highway Circuit, thereafter a further 7 laps of the extended Highway Circuit including the 5% gradient section.

Race 3 - Men's A, B & C
Men's A Grade: Race distance of 120 kilometres of the extended AARC Highway Circuit.
First 10 laps will be on the oval Highway Circuit, thereafter a further 12 laps of the extended Highway Circuit including the 5% gradient circuit. This is an individual event with a team component in A only.
   
Teams
Race 1 and Race 3 only. Max. of 5 (min. of 3) riders per team. Time taken on first 3 riders. Team entrants remain eligible for individual prizemoney. However, teams compete for VRS point only.
   
Start Times
Race 1 & Race 2: Registration 09:00am, Start 10:00am
Race 3: Registration 11:30am, Start 12:30pm                                                 
   
Pit Area and
Pit Lane
A FCC PIT area will be provided on the start finish straight. Riders are required to provide their own spares. Spares should be labelled with the riders name and race number and provided to the pit tent prior to the start of the race. 
 
Teams may set up a portable tent in pit lane if so required, however, all spares are to be provided to the FCC Pit Tent. The pit area is immediately adjacent to the FCC Pit tent.
   
Spares /
Mechanicals/
Mishaps
Until 2 laps to go and in the event of a mechanical mishap, a spares vehicle will shuttle riders back to the pit area where they will undertake repairs and rejoin the race.
During the final 2 laps riders will receive neutral service at the point of the incident and rejoin the race by their own effort. A limited number of neutral spares will be provided for use in the final 2 laps.
 
   
Feed Zone
Race 3 only. Feed zone is open from lap 11 to lap 20. Feed Zone is located at the start/finish area.
   
KOM
No KOM in this years event.
   
Lapped Riders Lapped riders may be withdrawn from the race at the discretion of the Chief Commissaire.
   
Passing Races 1 and 2 will be run concurrently. Passing on right hand side only.
   
Rider Briefing A rider briefing will be conducted by the Chief Commissaire on the start line 10 minutes prior to the start of each race.
   
Presentation A presentation will be held shortly after completion of each race. All placegetters are required to attend. Presentations will be held adjacent to the Registration tent.
   
Circuit & Facility
Details
The Australian Automotive Research Centre (AARC) occupies a 1000 hectare site near Anglesea, 125km south-west of Melbourne. The Highway Circuit is a hotmix 4.2klm circuit, 7.6m wide with an extra lane on each curve to give an overall width of 11.2m. The circuit follows the natural topography of the land, is fully fenced and closed to traffic.
 
   
Facility Entry/Exit All persons entering the AARC will be required to complete the Entry Log at the front gate.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME TO COMPLETE THE ENTRY LOG AT THE FRONT GATE PRIOR TO YOUR EVENT.
