Cycling Victoria - DISC Velodrome FAQ


What is DISC? 

The 'Darebin International Sports Centre' - the new home of Victorian cycling.  DISC houses an all-year-round indoor velodrome, known as The Joe Ciavola Velodrome, as well as the CV office.

Do I need a licence to ride on DISC?

Yes. If you have a current Cycling Australia licence, you can train on the DISC velodrome.  Training costs $5 per hour (without lights). 

Note: Unlicenced riders who would like to have a go at track cycling, there will be specific sessions and days scheduled for 'Come 'n' Try' days.  For more information, please Email CV

When can I use DISC to train? 

Casual training - DISC is available for casual training on Monday-Fridays between 9am-5pm*.   *Please check the DISC Training Schedule to avoid contracted training bookings within these times.

When can I race on DISC? 

There are weekly racing events at DISC and a full summer of track events.  Please check the DISC Event Listing for more information.

What equipment do I need?

Note - track bikes only on the track.

You can hire track bikes from CV @ $10 per session - booking required.

How do I get tickets to the Hisense Arena?

Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketek on 132 849 or by checking their website - Ticketek.
